The 1 Mizo Air Squadron National Cadet Corps (NCC) paraded past the national tricolour flag paying respect amd homage to the birth of a new nation, India, at the grand celebration organised at the capital city, Aizawl, on August 15, 2022. The 75th anniversary of India’s Independence Day was celebrated with much funfare throughout the country and Mizoram was no less.
There were seven (7) armed contingents, four (4) unarmed contingents and 14 (fourteen) school contingents taking part in the grand celebration at Aizawl where the Chief Minister Shri Zoramthanga hoisted the national flag. Among the armed contingent the 1 Mizo Air Squadron, NCC stood 3rd in the parade competition.
There are only few institutions having Air Squadron, NCC and the parade contingent of the Independence Day consisted of cadets from these institutions. And , a total of 17 cadets from Government J. Thankima College forms the parade contingents of the 1 Mizo Air Squadron, NCC.
The Principal, Prof. JV Nunchunga, staff, students and alumni expressed their appreciation to the 1 Mizo Air Squadron, NCC and the College cadets as well as the officer in-charge for their achievement.
