Lecture and Poster Campaign on Energy Conservation was organized by the Eco Club and the Student’s Union, Government J. Thankima College, during the Cultural Day cum GJTC Fest 2024.
The event aimed to raise awareness and promote action towards energy conservation among students. It saw enthusiastic participation, with over 150 students actively engaging in the activities.
A highlight of the event was the special lecture delivered by Ms. Rebecca Khiangte, Green Teacher and Associate Professor. Her presentation focused on the sources of energy and the importance of their conservation. Ms. Rebecca Khiangte emphasized the significance of energy efficiency in our daily lives, highlighting the advantages of renewable sources such as wind and solar energy. Her insights provided students with practical knowledge and motivation to incorporate energy-saving practices into their routines.
In conjunction with the lecture, a poster making competition was organized for students of the IV Semester FC/EVS. The competition aimed to creatively convey the message of saving energy through visual art. The posters were displayed prominently during the Cultural Day cum GJTC Fest 2024, serving as a powerful campaign to inspire energy conservation among peers and the wider community.
The poster making competition and campaign successfully motivated students to pledge their commitment to saving energy in their daily lives. The creative expressions through posters reinforced the importance of individual actions in achieving collective energy conservation goals.
