Today, ie. 13th Nov, 2020, a team of inspection consisting of Prof. P. Rinawma (Convener) Head of Dept., Geography and Resource Management Department – Mizoram University and Prof. Lalbiakdiki  Hnamte, Director College Development Council, Mizoram University has visited Govt.J. Thankima College,  for inspecting the college regarding the granting of provisional affiliation on the subject of Geography for the period of two years. The Subject of Geography in Govt. J. Thankima was opened in the beginning of 2020-21 academic session. At present the numbers of students admitted stood at 127.
