Election Briefing Held for S.U. Elections Candidates

In preparation for the ensuing Students’ Union election, an ‘Election Briefing,’ programme was conducted by the office of the Returning Officer today, ie, Monday, August 6, 2018, at the Central Campus. Candidates for the elections attended the programme.

At the Briefing programme, the Returning Officer Lalngaihawma, Assistant Professor of Economics asked the candidates to refrain from any election malpractices and to assists the election officers to hold free and fair elections. He also invited the candidates to work together in the activities of the SU after the elections are over with the objectives of sustaining the good name of the College, attaining academic excellence as well as quality improvement of the Institution in all aspects.

The RO was accompanied by the Polling Officer, Lalhmunsiami Khiangte, Associate Professor of English. While congratulating the candidates, she invited more students to come forward in future as the Students’ Union leadership is an important institution of learning leadership skills and management.

The Students’ Union elections have been scheduled to be conducted on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Central Campus. As a part of the Institution’s co-curricular activity, it shall be considered compulsory for all bonafide students to cast their vote in the elections.

Students should wear the College t-shirt and have their Identity Card duly attested by the Principal to be eligible to vote in the elections.
