In writing the history of Nausel Village, Primary data was collected by interviewing conversant persons of Nausel, Sihphir and Durtlang localities. In addition, information was collected from Sihphir Village Council Meeting minute book.
Findings:
Since there is few or no proper record of Nausel History, some limitations and difficulties was encountered in documenting its past history. Most of the habitants during the time of the Village establishment are no more, which makes it strenuous of a task to begin with, and with no written records, there are multiple perspectives of its history. From its birth, the residents at Nausel were mostly Paihte. The common dialect of the people was also Paihte. Duhlian which we called Mizo language was sparsely used and only around three families were familiar with it. The first settlers of the Village were mostly Paihte, with some other Mizo tribes.
