Summary:
The Method employed for the Survey is Interview and Questionnaire. The “Survey on the Health Conditions of Women and Children” was conducted in the select adopted Nausel Village by Faculty of English Department. Three Female Core Students namely Mimi Lungtiawii Sailo, Malsawmdawngzuali and Remlalfaki accompanied Faculty of the department in conducting the Survey. 40 female head/married women of the family out of 70 were selected randomly for the survey who replied enthusiastically. The questions were mainly about their personal health, familial conditions and economic conditions, and the study was conducted to determine the nature and extent of health conditions of women and children.
Data was collected by interviewing the respondents with the help of an interview schedule containing structured questionnaires. The instrument of observation was prepared by vigorously going through the standard procedures and the health conditions of women and children at the time of observation were identified. The responses determined the health conditions with the help of a close-end question developed for the purpose.
The survey helped to identify the health problems referring to any type of disease or sickness which may affect the health or general well-being of the rural women and children. The nature of health problem or level of health conditions referred to by the respondents is being classified accordingly at a given period of time in the area.
