Students of the 1st Semester Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) attended the New Economic Development Policy (NEDP) programme of ‘Felicitation of Winners of Mipui Mamawh Inṭawm Ruahmanna‘ (MIMIR), ‘Launching of Community Development Project for BPL Free Villages‘ & ‘Launching of 3rd Mizoram Rahbi,’ at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl. The students were escorted by their teacher Ronald Lalnunmawia Royte.
MIMIR is a scheme under NEDP in which villages within the eight districts of Mizoram prepares a project which is most suitable and feasible for their development. The concerned authority then selected the best project submitted by the villages from each district, and each winners were awarded a grant of Rs. 1 crore.
Winners of MIMER were as follows:
• Siaha District : New Siaha (Transport Terminal)
• Lawngtlai District : Sangau (Phawngpui Tourism)
• Aizawl District : Sialsuk (Eco Tourism)
• Lunglei District : Cherhlun (Solar)
• Kolasib District : Khamrang (Solar)
• Champhai District : New Chalrang (Pineapple Processing)
• Serchhip District : Thenzawl (Handlooms)
• Mamit District : Reiêk (Eco Tourism)
A Community Development Project was launched by awarding grants amounting to Rs. Forty lakhs towards community development for villages that does not have a registered Below Poverty Line (BPL) families. The five villages that were awarded grants under the Project were Chawngtlai, Pamchung, Rabung, Riangtlei and Tlangmawi.
Launching of ‘3rd Mizoram Rahbi’ is a micro start up capital competition for awarding grants to educated persons.
The Chairperson of the programme highlighted the various development foatered by the implementation of the New Land Use Policy (NLUP) and Dr. Vanlalramsanga, IRS, delivered a convincing presentation on importance of the three projects for the development of Mizoram.
Lalsawta, Minister also spoke at the occasion and Lal Thanhawla, Chief Minister gave away the prizes and spoke at the occasion highlighting the various aspects of development facilitated by NEDP at present, and for the future.
