Report of the event: The Two Days State Level Seminar on Environment Education concludes with the inauguration of Eco Club by Dr. Lalramnghaki Pachuau, Scientist ‘B’, Mizoram Pollution Control Board & Officer i/c NGC (Eco Club), Mizoram. The inaugural function of the Eco Club was held at the Courtyard-I of the Central Campus attended by government officials of Mizoram ENVIS Hub, Mizoram Pollution Control Board, teachers, and students. The Principal Dr. C. Lalremruata delivered the welcome address and conveyed his gratitude to Dr. Lalramnghaki, Mizoram Pollution Control Board, Mizoram Environment Information System Hub and the Department of History, GJTC for the noble initiatives taken by them. He expresses his happiness to be a participant in the inauguration of the Eco Club which is an important milestone for the College. Speaking at the occasion Dr. Lalramnghaki told the gathering that Govt. J. Thankima College is the first Eco Club at the college level in Mizoram which is officially registered under the government of Mizoram. She expresses her enthusiasm to work together in various activities engaged by the Eco Club while formally inaugurating the Club. After the inauguration of the Club a tree planting programme, as the first activity of the Eco Club was conducted in which Dr. Lalramnghaki, Dr. C. Lalremruata, Rebecca Khiangte and R. Lalbiaktluangi planted the Eco Club Tree. Rebecca Khiangte, HOD, and teacher i/c of Environmental Studies proposed the vote of thanks and invited all the students of the 4th Semester Classes to be a member.
