A Voluntary Blood Donation Camp was jointly organised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Units, Red Ribbon Club and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) today, ie., Friday, August 10, 2018, at the Central Campus. The blood donation camp was organised for the Blood Bank Centre of Aizawl Civil Hospital.
The NSS Units and the RRC organizes blood donation camps every academic session and during the session 2018-19, they have decided to organise three (3) blood donation camps. And, in the first phase of the camp, the students of 3rd Semester and 5th Semester were invited as donors. The next round of blood donation camp has been scheduled in September, 2018 and February, 2019 by the concerned authority.
The College has five (5) units of NSS and one (1) Red Ribbon Club. And in the Voluntary Blood Donation programme today, a total of 75 units (Female – 8 and male 67) of blood was collected by officials from Aizawl Civil Hospital.
Since, NSS and Red Ribbon Club activities form an important aspect of extension activities through which the community is linked to the Institution, all students are cordially invited to enroll as a volunteer and to actively participate in such activities.
The Programme Officers of NSS and the Nodal Officers of Red Ribbon Club conveyed their gratitude to the Students’ Union of GJTC, NSS volunteers, blood donors, Peer Educators of RRC, Principal of GJTC and officials from Aizawl Civil Hospital.
