Mizo Department observes international Mother Language Day on 21st February 2025. Dr Sangrozami, Associate Professor talks about the importance of languages and languages are essential to education and sustainable development, serving as the primary means through which knowledge is transferred and cultures are preserved.
The objectives of observing International Mother Language Day are Promoting linguistic diversity and multilingualism; Recognizing the importance of mother languages in preserving heritage and identity; Encouraging language education and literacy programs; raising awareness about language endangerment and promoting language preservation; and lastly, Celebrating the diversity of languages and cultures worldwide.
