The National Voter’s Day and Republic Day, 2023 was observed by Government J. Thankima College on 25th January, 2023 at the Central Campus. In pursuance of the Academic Calendar, the programme was jointly organised by Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and the Department of Political Science.
In the Programme Chaired by Mr. Lalthlamuana, Associate Professor and Head of Department, the resource person Mr. Lalbuatsaiha, Assistant Professor and Youth Icon, PwD, SVEEP, spoke on the importance of casting vote in elections and asked all the newly registered voters to cast their votes in the coming Mizoram Legislative Assembly elections of 2023.
Mr. Zoramthanga, Associate Professor delivers powerpoint presentation on the significance of Indian Republic Day and asked the participants to cherished, preserve and strengthen the Republic of India by active participation in democratic processes through voting in elections.
The Voter’s Pledge for National Voter’s Day was administered by Mrs. Lalringzuali, Associate Professor, and Dr. Lalrinngheta, Assistant Professor conducted quiz on the theme ‘Voting’. Prizes were given to three participants who answered the most number of questions as follows.
1st : Zorempuii
2nd : Vanlalhruaichhuaha
3rd : Remsangpuia
The programme ends with a vote of thanks by Ms. Lalbiaknii Hmar, Associate Professor and member, IQAC
