Objectives: HIV prevention programmes are interventions that aim to halt the transmission of HIV. HIV prevention programmes usually focus on preventing the transmission of HIV through a complementary combination of behavioural, biomedical and structural strategies.

The aim of the HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme is to empower and increase the awareness to participants of HIV/AIDS, its impact, management and availability of support systems. This is to encourage early testing and lifestyle changes that will thereby reduce and prevent further infection.

The event & Outcome: This programme allowed the students to be interactive, accomodating different questions and clarifications. It proved to be a successful event and very much recommended. The residents of Bawngkawn locality were also invited to the programme; where they each took great interest in the matter and promised to pass on the information discussed in the program to their family memebers and the community.
