Topic: 1. Importance of hygienic lifestyle 2. Manners and etiquette. Objectives: 1. Giving awareness on importance of hygiene for health. 2. To improve hygiene behaviours and encouraging effective community management of sanitation. 3. Creates an effective interaction with friends and others 4. To teach manner and etiquette to the students
No of participants: 23 female Core students
Resource Person: 1. C Vanlalruati, Associate Professor and Secretary Women Committee, GJTC 2. Lalthanchami Khiangte, Assistant Professor and Member of Women Committee.
Report of event: Sensitization Workshop for Women, organised by Women Committee. Ms. Sangrozami was the Chairperson. Participants are come from the department of Mizo, History, English, Political Science. This Workshop was conducted when the Covid 19 pandemic was started. The room are not allowed fully occupied. Thus, the All the participants are request to keep social distancing. The topics of Importance of hygienic lifestyle and Manners and etiquette are relevant topic and importance
Body: In this seminar, the first topic, and the first resource person stressed on the hygienic lifestyle of present- day students, particularly female students and how to maintain our personal hygiene during a pandemic. Having a good hygienic lifestyle is very important for maintaining both mental and physical health. It can elevate our mood and we can perform better in our daily activities. For women, it is very important to change sanitary pads regularly and to wash the hands before and after every change. It is also necessary to always keep an extra pair of pads in case of some emergency. For both men and women, the genital areas should be cleaned regularly. In conclusion, great hygiene practices will keep you sound, boost your confidence and look pleasant for everyone around you.The second topic and the second resource person talked about the significance of manners and etiquette in our daily lives, and how we can make an impression on people by simply having good manners and etiquettes. They go hand in hand, but are not the same. Good manners cost us nothing, but may win almost everything. They are the skills of making people feel easy and comfortable. We can have better relationships with people we know and meet in day-to-day life just by behaving well. Courtesy, politeness or having good manners are an about respecting other and yourself. If you show good manners everywhere you go, then you are more likely to encourage others to behave in the same way towards you. One imbibes or learns Good Manners and Etiquettes right from early childhood and it gets strengthened over years to form habits.
Outcome: The participants learned from this seminar that having a good hygienic lifestyle is a simple yet necessary way to maintain their health. Their discussions helped them to know better ways to maintain personal hygiene, especially the female participants. They also promised to share their knowledge to their family members. This seminar was greatly profited by the participants in many ways. They learned that just by having good manners and etiquette, they can impress people and build good relationship. They learned a few points and tips to improve their manners and etiquette from the resource person. The participants also had a great fun practising these tips.
