On 19th February, 2021, Department of Economics Govt. J . Thankima College and Johnson College Organized Faculty Exchange at Govt. Johnson College . Various issues and agendas were discussed. Following were the resolutions discussed and resolved.
1. Faculty Exchange Program: The meeting resolved the following with regards to the scheduling and details of Faculty Exchange Program.
a. The time and duration of classes to be taken as part of the Faculty Exchange Program between the two colleges be scheduled as per conveniences of both the interacting colleges, with respect to the orders and regulations regarding Institutional class practices, soon to be put up by the State Government.
b. The meeting has also proposed and resolved on Economics Core classes being the subject of lecture exposure for the Faculty Exchange Program.
2. Syllabus Re-Evaluation: The meeting felt the need for re-evaluation of the Undergraduate, BA Economics syllabus; which would be at the least in tandem with the current economic issues and goals, not to exclude the need for a more career and job-oriented learning.
The meeting thus, resolved the following with regards to the matter of Syllabus re-evaluation and course- evaluation.
a. Handing in representation to the concerned, on Syllabus re-evaluation which is inclusive of:
(i) Made-easy Syllabus-based Book Reference System.
(ii) Unified, functional Syllabus-based/oriented Prescribed textbooks for all.
(iii) A more inclusive syllabus in tandem with the ever-dynamic World and regional economy.
(iv) A working syllabus which is more job-oriented friendly.
b. The meeting also entrusted Mr. Lalngaihawma, teacher, Govt. J. Thankima College to collect details on Course Paper-wise suggestions made by the concerned teachers with regards to the syllabus and do the needful hence forth.
