Under the funding of RUSA 2.0 Equity Initiatives 3rd Installment, the Innovation and Best Practices Committee oragized short term course on Basic First Aid Training during 10th – 16th October, 2019 at Central Campus. 30 students were selected to be on the training. The resource person was Mrs. Lalnunpuii, M.Sc. Nursing.
During the training various basic life support activities and use of basic first aid were studied.

Objective: The key aims of first aid can be summarized with the acronym of ‘the three Ps’: Preserve life: The overriding aim of all medical care which includes first aid, is to save lives and minimize the threat of death. Body: Under the funding of RUSA 2.0 Equity Initiatives 3rd Installment, the Innovation and Best Practices Committee oragized short term course on Basic First Aid Training during 10th – 16th October, 2019 at Central Campus. 30 students were selected to be on the training. The resource person was Mrs. Lalnunpuii, M.Sc. Nursing. During the training various basic life support activities and use of basic first aid were studied.
Outcome: Along with the above five objectives, proper skill on first aid also provided reassurance to the patient and confidence in the first aider to respond appropriately. It’s a necessary and critical stage for preventing serious harm and is an indispensable skill to have. The students felt that they have confidence relatively after training.
