Under Rashtriya Uchchatar Shisha Abhiyan (RUSA) scheme Government J.Thankima College has been selected as a Model Degree College. Under the scheme, the College shall receive an amount of Rs. 4,00,00,000/-.

The break up for the grant may be read as follows:
1. Construction of buildings : Rs. 1,60,00,000/-
2. Upgradation of infrastructure : Rs. 1,60,00,000/-
3. Procurement of equipments : Rs. 80,00,000/-

Since its inception, RUSA has been a vehicle of change and transformation for the College.
